블랙초크베리(아로니아베리)

몇군데서 퍼와서 녹슨 머리로 번역해봤습니다

Native to wetlands and wet woods from Florida to Nova Scotia, this fast-growing shrub does fine in wet or dry soil, in sun or partial shade, even in poor soils.

This is a vase shaped shrub, branching from the base, 6-10 ft in height, with touches of red in every season including; white flowers with red stamens in spring, orange/red fall foliage and clusters of Black berries in fall and winter.

Use for: Naturalizing, border shrub, wildlife habitat, accent plant, screen, or erosion control.

 The berries are eaten by cedar waxwings, chickadees, grouse, catbirds, eastern meadowlarks and others.

Fruit is edible and a good source of vitamin C.  Commonly used for juice, jams, jellies, and syrup.

빨리 자라고 젖은땅 마른땅 햇볕 잘 받는곳, 그늘 심지어 안 좋은 땅에서도 잘 자란다

 

빨간색이 좀 들어가 있다(그래서 조경용으로도 쓰인다),  땅에서부터 가지가 나온다

봄에는 하얀꽃에 빨간 수술

가을에는 오렌지/빨간 잎으로 낙엽이 진다

 

울타리용, 침식방지용, 야생동식물 서식지용, accent plant는 눈에 뜨이는 식물 등등의 용도로 쓰인다

waxwing이라는 참새종류 박새종류, 뇌조, 개똥지바귀등등이 먹는다

 

먹을수 있고 비타민C가 많다. 주로 잼이나 젤리, 시럽으로 먹는다

General Culture:

Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Tolerant of wide range of soils, including both dry and boggy soils. Best fruit production occurs in full sun. Spreads by root suckers to form colonies.

Noteworthy Characteristics:

Black chokeberry is an open, upright, spreading, somewhat rounded but leggy, deciduous shrub which typically grows 3-6' (infrequently to 9') tall. Features clusters of 5-petaled, white flowers in spring which are followed in early autumn by blackish purple, blueberry-sized fruits which usually do not persist into winter. Lustrous, dark green foliage turns an attractive purplish red in autumn. Although relatively common in certain parts of Eastern North America, it is endangered in Missouri (known only to exist in southeastern Stoddard County). Although technically edible, the fruits are extremely tart and bitter, and are not recommended for eating off the bush (hence the common name of chokeberry), but may be used for making tasty jams and jellies.

No serious insect or disease problems. Some susceptibility to leaf spot and blight

 

보통의 진흙,모래, 유기질로 돈 흙이며 배수가 잘되는 땅에서 잘 자란다

건조토양에서 습지까지의 광범한 토양에서 자랄수 있다

햇볕이 잘드는 곳에서 최고의 과실이 열린다

뿌리포기이식으로 번식한다

줄기가 가늘고길며 낙엽성 관목으로 3~6피트(90cm~180cm)의 높이에 최대 9피트까지 자란다

 5개의 꽃잎을 가진 흰꽃이 봄에 펴서 초가을에 검은자줏빛의 블루베리크기의 열매가 열리는데 겨울되기전에 떨어진다

광택있는 잎이 매력적인 자줏빛의 빨간색이 된다.

열매는 먹을수는 있지만 매우 시큼하고 쓰다

심각한 병충해피해는 없다

마름병과 딸기뱀눈무늬병에 걸리기 쉽다

  

블랙초코베리는 블루베리의 5배, 복분자의 20배, 포도의 80배의 안토시아닌이 있다고 하고

암에 아주 좋고... 비만, 심혈관계통, 당뇨, 궤양에 아주 좋아서

유럽에서는 만병통치약으로 통한다고 합니다

 

군대서 영어는 좀 했지만 이건 농업과 식물에 대한 전문용어들이 많이 나오는지라...

대충 번역하면 이런땅 저런땅에서도 잘 자란다.

(블루베리처럼 산성토양이니 해서 까탈스럽지 않다. ^^)

햇볕잘드는 곳이 좋다

생으로 먹을수 있기는 있다 다만 그냥 먹기에는 거시기하다 그래서 초크베리라한다

잼이나 젤리 만들면 좋을거다

특별한 병충해가 없다

 

제가 최근에 베리종류에 관심이 많이 가서 블랙베리나 몇가지에 대해서 알아보고 있습니다

관목류이고 병충해가 별로 없어서 재배가 쉬울듯 합니다
